More than 2,000 square metres for safety and environmental protection

At its current location in Robert-Bosch-Straße 3, the company is creating space for innovation in the areas of safety and environmental protection, modern technology and global growth with a new building. 1,200 m2 are reserved for modernised warehouse technology and 900 m2 are earmarked for 22 offices with meeting rooms. The SEWERIN Group is thus investing 6 million euros in the site. The property is being planned by Melisch Architekten BDA. Hermann Peitz GmbH and AKD-Bau GmbH are carrying out the first construction phases. Ralph Brinkhaus, Member of the German Bundestag, and Matthias Trepper, Mayor of Gütersloh, congratulate the company on this step.

For more than 100 years, Hermann Sewerin GmbH has been developing and selling technical solutions that detect gas and water leaks. In doing so, it ensures the safety of people within the gas supply system. It also protects the environment from unnecessary methane emissions or water leaks - worldwide. Currently, for example, several 1,000 loggers, which permanently monitor water networks and report leaks, have been sold to Paris. Gas leak detection devices are also being purchased by energy suppliers in Romania, South Korea and the USA, for example. This international growth in particular makes the new building necessary, as Sewerin continues to produce in Gütersloh, Germany. Benjamin Sewerin, Managing Partner, emphasises: "This was a very conscious decision for us. Here at our own site, we can best ensure the quality and thus the operational reliability of the solutions and the sustainability of our success with qualified specialists." From Gütersloh, the company supplies its water and gas leak detection devices to a total of 107 countries. The company's own subsidiaries in five countries and sales partners in the other countries support this growth. In 2024, the Sewerin Group had a total turnover of 60 million. 300 employees make a significant contribution to the quality of the solutions and the success of the group of companies.

"The project team has incorporated many ideas and a wealth of experience into the planning of the new building. The modern warehouse technology will make the employees' work easier. The new space also gives us the opportunity to organise processes even better," says a delighted Markus Ogur, Head of Production. After the renovation of the Chemnitz service location, the four social rooms in the previous building and the expansion of the car park, the construction is the next project that will also keep Dirk Koch, Building Manager, busy: "Things are finally getting underway. I've worked very hard for this!"

Ralph Brinkhaus, Member of the Bundestag, has known Sewerin for a long time: "Companies like Hermann Sewerin GmbH are the backbone of our economy with their innovative solutions and the courage to continue investing, even in challenging times." In his welcoming address, Gütersloh's mayor Matthias Trepper mentions how Gütersloh benefits from companies like Sewerin: "Medium-sized, family-run companies like Sewerin plan for the long term and create secure jobs and apprenticeships in the city. The citizens of Gütersloh benefit from this."

The building is due to be completed in spring 2026. By then, not only the building will be growing, but also the anticipation of the employees and partners. Citizens will be able to follow the construction progress from the B61.
