For many years now, the Saxon member of the German Bundestag Frank Heinrich (CDU) has been cycling through Chemnitz at least once a year and visiting companies, social institutions and associations. On the “Tour de Frank” on September 8th, 2021 he was accompanied by Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer. After a round through the castle park, the group of cyclists returned for a stop at the Hermann Sewerin GmbH branch on Nordstrasse in Chemnitz.
After a little refreshment, the two politicians visited in the presence of managing director Dr. Swen Sewerin, Sales Manager Andreas Schweitzer and Michael Kersting, responsible for the development of new business areas, the business premises of the almost 200 square meter branch.
SEWERIN founded its branch in Chemnitz already in1991. Since then, the branch has been the central sales and service point for products for gas and water leak detection in East Germany. The Saxon Prime Minister Kretschmer was particularly interested in the current state of the art in water leak detection. A few years ago he tried his hand at water leak detection and insisted on testing the current products himself.
SEWERIN has been involved in development policy for many years, especially in global projects to improve the water supply and therefore cooperates with German Development Aid (GIZ) and shows a strong commitment in business associations and in cooperation with politics. Through this commitment, Frank Heinrich and SEWERIN's Michael Kersting got to know each other at the event “Business trifft Afrika” organized by the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Member of the Bundestag, Frank Heinrich, initiated this event together with the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2014 to enable a direct exchange between the Chemnitz economy, African ambassadors and German politics.
